|Dew bedecked spider webs welcomed the
Asheville Volunteer Fungal Department on our last visit
to the magnificent Cataloochee transect site. Every trip
to the site was its own reward in some way --- a plethora
of lichens in the snow, a beautiful little liverwort on a
sandy stream bank, a magnificent example of Amanita
jacksonii Pomerleau standing atop a road embankment
and perfectly lit, and always good fellowship and hard
work. My personal thanks to all participants for their
time, generosity, and friendship.
